Position Overview:
Granite Transformations is seeking a highly skilled Help Desk Specialist to join our IT team. As a Help Desk Specialist, you will play a crucial role in providing technical support and ensuring the smooth functioning of our company's computer systems and networks. Key Responsibilities:
- Provide timely and efficient technical support to internal and external customers through phone, email, and in-person communication channels
- Troubleshoot and resolve hardware, software, and network issues
- Install and configure computer systems, including operating systems and applications
- Conduct regular maintenance and ensure the confidentiality, integrity, and availability of all systems and data
- Collaborate with other IT team members to implement new technologies and updates
- Maintain accurate records of all support requests and resolutions in the designated ticketing system
- Train and educate end-users on basic troubleshooting techniques and best practices
- Participate in on-call rotation to provide after-hours support as needed
Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field
- Minimum of 2 years of experience in a technical support role or similar position
- Proficient in troubleshooting hardware, software, and network issues
- Hands-on experience with Windows and Mac OS, Active Directory, Office 365, and other relevant business applications
- Strong knowledge of LAN/WAN, TCP/IP, DHCP, and DNS
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills with the ability to explain technical concepts to non-technical individuals
- Strong customer service orientation and a passion for solving problems
- Detail-oriented with strong organizational and time-management abilities
- Proactive and self-motivated with the ability to work independently and in a team environment
- Relevant certifications (e.g. CompTIA A+, Network+, Microsoft Certified Professional, etc.) is a plus
