As a Mechanical Engineer with Haptech, you will play a critical role in the design, development, and optimization of our innovative haptic systems and components. Your responsibilities will include ensuring compliance with industry standards, creating cutting-edge solutions to address engineering challenges specific to haptic technologies, and providing technical support to enhance product performance.

 What you will do:

  • Design and develop mechanical systems and components for a variety of applications, ensuring compliance with industry standards
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to develop project specifications, manage product development lifecycle, and contribute to the continuous improvement of engineering processes
  • Work with outside design teams to translate industrial design aesthetic and vision into manufacturable components
  • Refine small mechanical components based on internal and external stakeholder feedback
  • Explore the haptic resonance of motor mounts and plastic shell geometry 
  • Use engineering software to model and simulate mechanical systems, evaluate design concepts, and perform analyses to identify opportunities for optimization
  • Collaborate with designers, electrical engineers and others to translate marketing into mechanics, resulting in creative solutions satisfying multiple interests
  • Conduct experiments, tests, and prototype development to evaluate design concepts and verify performance characteristics of mechanical systems and components
  • Provide technical support to manufacturing and field service teams to ensure successful product implementation and customer satisfaction
  • Stay up-to-date with emerging technologies and industry trends, and apply them to drive innovation and differentiation in our products and services
  • Maintain project documentation, including design specifications, technical reports, and test plans, to ensure compliance with regulatory requirements

Required experience: 

  • 6+ years post-grad experience in Mechanical Engineering 
  • SolidWorks Associate certification (CSWA)
    • Familiarity with SolidWorks to Altium Designer workflow
  • BS in Mechanical Engineering
  • Strong organizational skills, documentation experience
  • Dynamic verbal and written communication skills
  • Collaborative, friendly problem-solving 
  • MS Office Suite

Preferred experience: 

  • People management
  • Certification Solidworks Professional (3-hour exam) 
  • Fusion 360 proficiency 
  • Experience building and delivering presentations
  • Experience with design for injection molding 
  • Experience with motors and motor control
  • Familiarity with mesh modeling
  • Familiarity with electronics such as soldering, crimping, and the integration of electronics into mechanical designs
  • Familiarity with wire harnesses
  • Experience with customer-facing programs and application integration
