About the Role
At Hedley & Bennett, we don’t just make aprons; we make the world’s best tools for the badass makers who "handle the hustle." We are looking for a Content Writer who can translate our passion for the professional kitchen into a compelling narrative for home cooks and world-class chefs alike.
You aren’t just a writer; you are a storyteller who understands that a great piece of content is like a perfectly seasoned dish, it requires research, creativity, and a little bit of "chutzpah." You will be the voice of the Apron Squad, crafting everything from deep-dive blog posts about Japanese denim to punchy email campaigns for our latest limited-edition collaborations.
Key Responsibilities
Brand Voice Ownership: Execute and evolve the H&B voice—Proper & Badass—across all digital touchpoints (Website, Email, SMS, Social).- Editorial Storytelling: Write long-form articles for the H&B Blog, covering chef spotlights, product deep-dives (knives, linens, aprons), and culinary tips.
- Product Copy: Craft "scroll-stopping" product descriptions that explain why our gear is battle-tested in 4,000+ restaurants.
- Collaborative Campaigns: Work closely with our "Creators’ Collection" partners (like Alton Brown or Top Chef) to tell the story behind every collab.
- SEO & Growth: Use SEO best practices to ensure H&B is the first name people see when searching for high-quality kitchen gear.
- Cross-Functional Collaboration: Partner with the Design and Social teams to ensure every word aligns with our visual aesthetic and marketing goals.
Required Qualifications
2–4 years of experience in content writing or copywriting, preferably for a D2C lifestyle or culinary brand.- A "Culinary Nerd" Heart: You don't need to be a Michelin chef, but you must speak the language of the kitchen (and know the difference between mise en place and a chiffonade).
- Strategic Thinking: Ability to turn complex product features (like brass hardware or 10oz duck canvas) into benefits that resonate with customers.
- Scrappy & Proactive: You have a "Builder’s Mentality"—you roll up your sleeves, wear multiple hats, and thrive in a fast-paced environment.
- Portfolio: A collection of work that demonstrates versatility, from punchy headlines to engaging long-form narratives.

$72,000 - $88,000
