We are in need of a piano teacher to instruct on Thursdays from 4:00 PM to 8:30 PM and on Saturdays from morning to 3:00 PM.

 

We are actively seeking to hire a talented and reliable Piano Teacher to become part of our team at Highams Park Music Academy. The responsibilities of the Piano Teacher will encompass assessing students' needs and designing lessons that facilitate the attainment of their goals. This will involve preparing students for recitals, ABRSM and Trinity exams, as well as imparting fundamental music theory knowledge.

 

To excel in the role of a Piano Teacher, you should exhibit exceptional instructional skills and a great deal of patience, particularly when teaching young piano students as young as 5 years old and adults. Exceptional candidates are lifelong learners who continually refine their skills. We are eager to employ a piano teacher who can make the learning process enjoyable while simultaneously beneficial. We are searching for an individual with the ability and talent to inspire our students.

 

Responsibilities of the Piano Teacher:

  • Assessing student goals and objectives and discussing lesson specifics with them before committing to a plan.
  • Structuring individual lessons based on the preferences and goals of each student.
  • Providing students with suitable materials and resources.
  • Punctually attending scheduled practice sessions, recitals, competitions, and other events.
  • Teaching music theory and assisting students in improving their sight-reading, memorization, and improvisation skills.
  • Recording lessons so that students can identify their own mistakes and monitor their progress.
  • Preparing students for exams, recitals, concerts, and other events.
  • Motivating and inspiring students, especially during challenging times when progress is slow.
  • Offering constructive feedback and adjusting lessons as necessary.

Requirements for the Piano Teacher:

  • Enhanced DBS Certificate (mandatory).
  • A Bachelor's degree in Music/Piano and a teaching certificate may be required.
  • Strong musical background, proven piano skills, and extensive knowledge.
  • Previous teaching experience in music, with a minimum of 3 years.
  • Proficiency in sight-reading.
  • Patience, excellent communication, and strong interpersonal skills.
  • Strong motivational abilities.
  • The capacity to identify students' strengths and weaknesses.
  • The ability to travel to Highams Park at E4 where lessons will be held.

Expected Start Date: 15/01/2024

 

 Salary: £30.00-£33.00 per hour

 

Expected hours: No less than 5 per week

Licence/Certification:

  • DBS (preferred)

 

Work Location: In person
