What you'll do

 

The Engineering Team Lead will be a player/coach, using their expertise and passion to mentor our team and drive the development of our platform. As a senior technical leader, you’ll help build our Engineering stack and drive the product vision through its implementation and iterations.

 

 

You will be engineer number 1 in our new LATAM remote engineering hub. Working closely with our North American product team you will be responsible for building high- quality solutions across multiple product streams (eg AI, Marketplace, Subscriptions, etc). You will also be responsible for growing the remote hub and for the productivity of the team and the quality of their work. You will have a good balance between technical and people skills and be able to coordinate the team’s activities across the different stages of the product development lifecycle: understanding business requirements; Ruby on Rails development; code review; unit testing; deploying changes; engaging with project stakeholders. You will provide leadership and direction for the team and be willing to jump in to contribute to the work as needed.

Tech Skills

Ruby on Rails CORE

5+ yrs of professional experience in building web applications at scale using Ruby on Rails

Front-end Frameworks CORE

5+ yrs of experience with front-end technologies (HTML/CSS/Javascript/ES6/AJAX)

JavaScript CORE

3+ yrs of professional experience with modern JavaScript libraries and tooling

JavaScript frameworks CORE

Understanding of Javascript frameworks such as VueJS/React

Cloud CORE

5+ yrs of professional experience with AWS or similar

Server-Side Templating Languages CORE

5+ yrs of professional experience using server-side templating languages (such as ERB, HAML, etc depending on your technology stack)

CSS Important

3+ yrs of experience with server-side CSS preprocessors (such as SASS, based on project requirements)

Bootstrap Important

3+ yrs of experience with Bootstrap or another grid-based library

Git Important

Proficient understanding of code versioning tools (e.g. Git)

Debug Skills Important

Strong debugging experience and ability to solve production issues

Other Skills

Leadership CORE

Demonstrable experience in leading, growing, and developing product engineering teams for 3+ yrs (at least 2 yrs in the same project)

Travel Availability CORE

Have a passport and be willing to travel two times a year (May-Oct) & onboarding

Flexibility CORE

Availability to hold eventual meetings afterhours (this is a global company)

BD in CS (or similar) Important

Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field. Advanced degrees are a plus
