IT Project Manager- Infrastructure
About Hydra Host
Hydra Host is a Founders Fund-backed NVIDIA cloud partner building the infrastructure platform that powers AI at scale. We connect AI Factories - high-performance GPU data centers - with the teams that depend on them: research labs training foundation models, enterprises running production inference, and developer platforms demanding scalable compute capacity.
The Role
Hydra seeks a Project Manager to help lead multiple complex IT infrastructure buildouts in a fast-growing, lean environment.
This is not a “status meeting” PM role. You will be hands-on, deeply involved in technical coordination, vendor management, logistics, and customer communication. You’ll bring structure where there is ambiguity and drive projects forward without excessive process overhead.
If you thrive in environments where priorities shift, resources are tight, and speed matters this role could be for you.
Key Responsibilities
Own Projects End-to-End
- Lead multiple concurrent customer infrastructure buildouts from kickoff through production go-live.
- Define scope, milestones, and timelines — often building the structure from scratch.
- Keep projects moving with clear accountability and proactive follow-up.
- Drive fast decision-making while protecting delivery quality.
- Work closely with engineering and operations teams to sequence installs and cutovers.
- Track hardware procurement, shipping, staging, and on-site installation.
Be the Customer Quarterback
- Serve as the primary point of contact during infrastructure implementations.
- Translate technical details into clear business updates.
- Set expectations early and manage scope carefully.
- Proactively communicate risks before they become issues.
Solve Problems in Real Time
- Identify roadblocks and remove them quickly.
- Manage vendor timelines and hold partners accountable.
- Handle last-minute changes without losing control of the project.
- Escalate strategically, not reactively.
Keep It Lean but Controlled
- Maintain lightweight but effective project documentation.
- Track budgets, timelines, and risk in practical tools (Smartsheet, Jira, Monday, etc.).
- Build repeatable processes as the company scales
Preferred Qualification
- 5+ years of experience managing IT infrastructure or data center projects.
- Proven experience running multiple concurrent complex deployments.
- Strong understanding of Data center operations
- Experience working directly with external customers.
- Comfortable in fast-paced, ambiguous environments.
- Strong ownership mentality — you don’t wait to be told what to do
