Wholesale Manager Job Description

 

Hyperlite Mountain Gear designs and builds the world’s best ultralight backcountry gear including packs, tents, and accessories, and we’re looking for a new passionate team member. Our gear has been in the unmapped chimneys deep in the Grand Canyon to the peaks of Mt Everest and K2, to the most famous thru-hike trails in the world. We’re currently looking for a Wholesale Manager at Hyperlite Mountain Gear who is responsible for managing the company's wholesale business operations, building and maintaining strong relationships with wholesale partners, and driving sales growth within the wholesale channel. This role requires a strong understanding of the outdoor gear industry and an ability to work collaboratively with various teams within the company.

 

Reporting Relationships:

Reporting to the Director of Sales and Marketing, with strong cross function collaboration and working relationships with the CFO and CEO

 

Responsibilities:

  • Wholesale Account Management:
    • Manage and maintain relationships with existing wholesale partners.
    • Identify, evaluate, and onboard new wholesale accounts.
    • Understand the International landscape and opportunities for growth.
  • Sales and Revenue Growth:
    • Set annual and quarterly sales targets for the wholesale channel.
    • Collaborate with teams to develop and implement sales strategies.
    • Monitor sales performance and make data-driven decisions. 
  • Product Knowledge:
    • Provide product training and information to wholesale partners as needed.
    • Stay updated on industry trends and competitor offerings.
  • Order and Inventory Management:
    • Ensure efficient order processing and fulfillment for wholesale accounts.
    • Collaborate with operations and logistics teams to maintain proper inventory levels for wholesale orders and forecasting.
  • Contract Management and Pricing:
    • Facilitate negotiations on pricing, terms, and conditions with wholesale partners and CFO
    • Ensure contract and MAP compliance and enforce company policies.
  • Customer Support and Issue Resolution:
    • Address and resolve any issues or concerns raised by wholesale partners.
    • Provide exceptional customer support to maintain strong partner relationships.
  • Market Research and Analysis:
    • Conduct market research and analysis to identify opportunities and threats in the wholesale channel.
    • Provide feedback and insights to the company for product development and improvements.
  • Reporting and Documentation:
    • Maintain accurate records of sales data, order history, and communication with wholesale partners.
    • Prepare regular reports and presentations for management.

 

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in business, Marketing, or a related field (preferred).
  • Proven experience in wholesale management, preferably in the outdoor gear industry.
  • Strong sales and negotiation skills.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities.
  • Knowledge of outdoor and backcountry activities is a plus.
  • Preferred, an understand of the international market and connections
