The Laboratory Assistant will assist in the smooth and efficient operation of the IIQAF laboratory. This individual will support our team of scientists in conducting various experiments and tests to ensure the highest quality standards for food products. This is a hands-on role that requires a strong attention to detail and adherence to strict laboratory protocols.
Responsibilities:
• Prepare and maintain laboratory equipment and conduct regular checks to ensure proper functioning
• Assist in the preparation and testing of food samples using various techniques such as chromatography, microscopy, and spectrophotometry
• Maintain accurate records of all experiments and tests conducted
• Support scientists in data analysis and preparation of reports
• Adhere to all safety protocols and regulations in the laboratory
• Keep inventory of necessary supplies and place orders when needed
• Assist in the calibration and validation of laboratory equipment
• Maintain cleanliness and orderliness in the laboratory
• Communicate any issues or concerns to the lead scientist in a timely manner
Qualifications:
• Minimum of 2 years of experience working in a laboratory setting, preferably in a food-related field
• Knowledge of laboratory equipment and techniques
• Familiarity with quality control and assurance processes
• Strong attention to detail and ability to follow precise instructions
• Excellent communication and organizational skills
• Ability to work independently and in a team environment
• Proficient in Microsoft Office and data analysis software
