General Manager: OPCO Operations & Programme at Initiate International

You will work closely with the country heads of security and country and regional stakeholders to ensure a balanced, effective and risk driven approach is tailored for each country and is embodied in the country specific security plans agreed and funded for implementation. Your key job responsibilities as the General Manager in Johannesburg will include:

• Contribute to the development and maintenance of the Group security strategy representing the needs of the Tier 2 & 3 Opcos
• Lead the development of the local Opco security strategies for the Tier 2 and Tier 3 Opcos in alignment with the Group strategy and local market conditions
• Lead and direct the OPCO operations team and Opco security teams to deliver on the holistic cybersecurity mandate and commitment within the group and OpCos
• KPI: Ensure required strategies are developed and delivered in support of the accomplishment of Group and Opco objectives
• OPCO Operations
• Manage the development, integration and monitoring of detailed opco security business plans in accordance with the frameworks, goals and targets agreed with Group Executive Leadership and the requirements of the stakeholders of the individual Opcos
• OPCO Security budgets
• Monitoring and Reporting

Requirements for this General Manager job in Johannesburg:

• Four year tertiary qualification in Computer Engineering / Information Science or similar
• Additional business-related qualifications is preferred such as MBA
• Industry certification: CISSP, CISM or equivalent
• Additional certifications such as Prince 2, CISA, CGEIT, would be advantageous
• 12+ years of relevant work experience in cybersecurity
• 4+ years of experience at the Senior Management level in the telecommunications industry
• 2+ years working experience in managing cybersecurity in a large organisation
• Experience in managing large teams across multiple organisations / countries
• Experience in designing and implementing organisation wide cybersecurity framework
• Experience in managing and implementing large scale cybersecurity projects
• Experience working in Africa and Middle East and have a grasp of political, social, infrastructure and integrity challenges
• Experience in development of security strategies, supporting execution plans
• Negotiation of and management of budgets across multiple entities
• Advanced working understanding of the information technology environment of a telecom company
• Experience in Governance, Enterprise Risk Management and Compliance will be beneficial
