The Role
Reports to: VP, Sales - Americas
Location: Continental United States - Lives in DC Area/Washington
Comp: Negotiable
The Account Director – Government at iProov will lead our business with federal and state customers, partnering with each customer to identify and deliver biometric solutions, resulting in focused business outcomes for them and iProov. These include the Department of Homeland Security’s Customs and Border Protection (CBP), major airports in North America, and state governments such as the State of California.
As the frontline for iProov Government business, the Account Director will cultivate new and existing customer relationships to increase existing business and produce new recurring sales revenue, driving growth through strategic and complex account planning. This role allows you to leverage your extensive government network of customers and sales experience to execute strategic account and growth plans.
How you will be effective in this role:
- Sales Strategy: Execute an account-based sales strategy in targeted departments and accounts, focusing on growth and retention. Drive accountability to deliver on account plans among the extended customer teams internally.
- Business Planning: Develop value proposition presentations and business plans for customers that drive business outcomes to generate growth in existing business and new opportunities
- Relationship Management: Establish, nurture, and leverage existing relationships with government customers, including CBP HQ, officers stationed at airports, and airport leadership.
- Advocate: Advocate internally on behalf of the customer, ensuring requests and needs are being addressed in a timely and professional manner.
- Internal Orchestration: Orchestrates internal teams to anticipate issues/risks to customer satisfaction and ensure a constant focus on and achievement of excellence in post-sales obligations and support.
- Creativity and Solution Development: Development of trust by leveraging active listening to understand customer needs and problems. Joint solutions with customers to create concepts of operations for increasing customer productivity and cost-effectiveness with technology solutions.
What we would like to see from you:
- Willingness to travel domestically 50% of the time
- Demonstrable experience delivering successful solutions to the Federal Government, ideally with the Department of Homeland Security
- Proven track record of success in business development and sales within the Federal Government sector, ideally with experience in biometrics, digital identity, or related technologies.
- Demonstrated ability to deliver technical solutions to the Federal Government, ideally within the Department of Homeland Security.
- Excellent communication and presentation skills, both written and verbal, with the ability to articulate complex biometric and technical concepts clearly and persuasively.
- Strong team player with a proven ability to collaborate effectively across different functions and departments.
- U.S. citizenship
Additional Desirable Skills:
- Deep understanding of biometric technologies, digital identity solutions, and their applications within the Federal sector
- An active security clearance with the US government
