As we continue to scale and grow, we are looking for an experienced Principal Research Engineer to join our growing Science Team function and ensure our system continues to deliver outstanding levels of biometric security and performance globally.
Our system has to provide the highest levels of biometric security to defend against numerous and growing threats, whilst ensuring that we deliver outstanding performance for our millions of users worldwide. This is an exceptionally challenging problem as the nature of the threats evolves rapidly and there is a constant and growing need to track new threats, develop new defences and deploy them in a timely and efficient manner.
How you’ll make an impact:
- Conduct research in the areas of AI, ML and computer vision to develop new techniques in the general domain of biometric security
- Develop proof-of-concept projects to show how the research can lead to significant long term improvements in system performance
- Work with the teams within Science to turn the proof-of-concepts into production systems
- Act as a technical lead for AI within the Science team developing effective ways to drive improvements in algorithm quality
- Provide advice and mentorship to other members of the Science team who are engaged with AI, ML and CV projects
We tend to look for people with:
- 10+ years of experience in AI, ML or CV
- Demonstrable experience in developing production systems
- A very strong academic background, ideally with a PhD in a relevant discipline
- A passion for developing cutting-edge technology in an adversarial environment
- Excellent communication skills and the ability to work with others at all levels
- Want to be part of an ambitious, high-growth scaleup company
