We are currently looking for a Full Stack VB6 Software Developer for a 12 month contract for our client based in Durban
Responsibilities
- Develop new features and reports for existing VB6 applications.
- Create reusable code and libraries.
- Collaborate with team members.
- Integrate software with third-party services.
- Document changes and create help manuals.
- Proven experience in software development using VB6.
- Proficiency in writing SQL queries and working with databases (MS SQL Server)
- Will be dedicated to front-end development. Which is the layout of the screens and menus and basic reporting.
- Their involvement the System Development Life Cycle (SDLC) and the Key performance areas:
Planning
- Document project scope, timeframe, and security as designed by the stake holders and department head.
- Consolidate data and design considerations and version changes.
Analysis
- Collect end-user requirements.
- Assist in defining prototype concepts.
Design
- Outline application characteristics.
- Document data layers.
Development
- Develop interfaces, user interfaces and reporting.
- Follow coding rules and use authorized tools.
Testing and Integration
- Thoroughly test applications. Identify and correct flaws and defects.
- Document errors and bugs found during testing phase.
- Document number of times project /program has come back for testing.
- Test for responsiveness and efficiency
Implementation and Release
- Assist in the launch of the software.
- Assist in user training and helps manuals.
Maintenance
- Troubleshoot and resolve user issues.
- Implement updates and continuous end-users support
