Our client is a private utility company based in Hillcrest, Kwa-Zulu Natal. They are looking for a general manager that will run the commercial side of the business, making sure that the financial and operational teams are running smoothly while running their own commercial team.
The perfect candidate must have a degree in business management or a master's in business administration. The candidate must be a people person while being the glue of the company by managing the teams through effective communication. The candidate must be willing to travel to other branches in JHB and Cape Town.
A candidate with a utility, prepaid, and meters background will be highly considered.
Duties and Responsibilities:
- Overseeing daily business operations
- Developing and implementing growth strategies
- Creating and managing budgets
- Improving revenue
- Hiring employees
- Evaluating performance and productivity
- Analyzing accounting and financial data
- Researching and identifying growth opportunities
- Generating reports and giving presentations
- Ensuring that departments or units deliver quality offerings to clients
- Developing new solutions to meet client needs
- Improving internal processes for better productivity
Desired Experience and Qualification:
- Degree in business management or a master’s in business administration
- Minimum 5 years’ experience as a General Manger
- Infield experience with prepaid, utilities and meters will be beneficial
- Good knowledge of different business functions
- Strong leadership qualities
- Excellent communication skills
- Highly organized
- Strong work ethic
- Good interpersonal skills
- Meticulous attention to detail
- Computer literate
- Proactive nature
