We are looking for a Professional Quantity Surveyor for our client based in Durban, specialising in a wide range of professional services on behalf of its clients, providing a comprehensive project management and consulting service in the business environment, while taking cognisance of the country's social development needs.
Purpose of the role:
- Cost Management
- Site Management
- Subcontractor Management
- Developing cost plans and estimates through the design phase, delivering updated cost plans at appropriate design milestones.
- Providing commercial input to design optioneering and input into value engineering exercises. Reviewing contractor and subcontractor pricing and leading negotiations on behalf of the client to drive fair contract prices.
Requirements:
- A recognized degree in Quantity Surveying with membership, professional registration.
- At least 5 years experience, and ideally at least 5 years cost management and cost control experience in infrastructure (mobility/transport, power) projects.
- Good knowledge and experience of Project Cost Management Systems.
- Experience in utilizing Excel advanced level, and high skilled in Microsoft Office suite.
