Job Description: Tax Manager
Isisekelo Recruitment is seeking a highly skilled and motivated Tax Manager to join their client's team in Edenvale. As a Tax Manager, you will be responsible for overseeing and managing all tax processes and procedures for our clients. You will work closely with our clients to ensure compliance with tax laws and regulations while maximizing their tax savings. The ideal candidate will have strong analytical skills, extensive knowledge of tax laws, and excellent communication and leadership abilities.
Responsibilities:
Oversee all aspects of tax compliance for clients, including monitoring tax filing deadlines, preparing and reviewing tax returns, and responding to tax audits
Provide expert advice and guidance to clients on tax planning strategies and opportunities
Review and analyze tax implications of business decisions and make recommendations to minimize tax liabilities
Develop and maintain a strong understanding of current tax laws and regulations affecting clients
Identify and implement process improvements to streamline tax processes and increase efficiency
Manage a team of tax specialists and provide leadership, guidance, and training as needed
Build and maintain relationships with clients, providing exceptional customer service and ensuring their needs are met
Coordinate with external entities, such as tax authorities and auditors, as needed
Monitor and ensure timely payment of taxes, including estimated payments and payroll taxes
Conduct research and analysis on complex tax issues and communicate findings and recommendations to clients
Stay up-to-date on industry trends and changes in tax laws and regulations to ensure clients are informed and compliant
Essential requirements:
- At least 8 years experience in a tax department or similiar (preferably small to medium sized firms).
- At least 8 years Taxware and SARS e-filing experience.
- Must have experience in managing and supervising tax staff.
- Must have experience in reporting directly to partners and dealing directly with clients.
- Have the ability to assess and inprove efficiences, internal controls, systems and tax policies within the department.
- Must have dealt with diverse tax clients (individuals, companies, trusts)
- Vast income tax and provisional tax experience.
- Vast experience in dealing with tax objections and disputes.
- Preferably able to become SAIT registered or already registered.
