The Technical Sales Representative is responsible for supporting the sales and marketing team drive through the execution of the company marketing and sales strategy through sales.
The incumbent is responsible for the management of existing clients as well as the active acquisition of both new clients and the identification of new target markets and opportunities for new business development and growth. The incumbent is expected to actively seek out new clients through visits, attendance of functions as well as presentation of company products and services to existing and potential clients.
Duties & Responsibilities:
- Conduct markets review and analysis
- Identify potential new offerings, (Products and services) in conjunction with the sales team
- Seek out new markets and potential offering
- Focus on potentially long-term contracts and business relationships
- Manage relations with key clients (Both current and new)
- Prepare and conduct presentations to existing and potential clients
- Compile weekly and monthly pipeline reports
- Maintain and update client records in respect of work completed/projected
- Maintaining relations with the corporate office administration and finance teams
- Maintain and build relationships with existing and new client
- Schedule regular visits to clients and manage invitations to related business functions and forums
- Maintain ongoing records of current and future client needs
- Update client records in accordance with the company systems
- Technical back up service on product use
- Compile and update client and sales-based information on company system
- Process all administration documentation in accordance with company policy
- Maintain administrative records as per sales guidelines and policy
- Maintain and update of client database
- Supplement existing company database through scanning of the market, professional publications, newspapers and other sources
- Revise database information as part of the email advertisement function
- Conduct product survey usage in their portfolio and recommend on new product additions
- Occasionally host principals that supply products for the concerned portfolio
- Exhibit clear knowledge of competitor activities and the general business environment
Desired Experience & Qualification:
- Grade 12 (Essential)
- Relevant tertiary qualification in chemistry, chemical engineering, Sales and Marketing
- 2 – 5 years’ relevant experience with specific knowledge gained in the Chemical industry
