Job Role:
As a Business Development Manager, you will play a key role in driving the growth and success of the company by identifying new business opportunities, building and maintaining strong relationships with customers, and contributing to the overall business strategy with a focus on Domestic sales. This position requires a combination of strategic thinking, sales expertise, and relationship-building skills.
Key Responsibilities:
- Generate new leads and opportunities through various channels, including cold calling, networking events, and online research.
- Develop and implement effective prospecting strategies to expand the customer base.
- Build and maintain strong relationships with existing customers, understanding their needs and ensuring customer satisfaction.
- Identify opportunities for upselling or cross-selling additional products/services.
- Negotiate terms and conditions to achieve mutually beneficial agreements.
- Close deals and secure contracts.
- Work towards to achieving individual sales targets and KPIs and contribute to business goals.
- Collaboration with internal teams.
- Work closely with internal departments to align business development efforts with overall Company goals.
- Provide feedback from customers to contribute to product/service enhancements.
- Implement sales strategies to achieve revenue targets and business growth.
- Continually assess and adjust strategies based on market feedback and performance metrics.
- Track and analyse sales performance and business development opportunities.
- Prepare regular reports for management to evaluate effectiveness.
- Conduct through market research to identify potential business opportunities and trends.
- Analyse industry data and competitor activities to stay informed about market changes.
Skills and Requirements
- Proven experience in business development, sales, or related field
- Strong understanding of market dynamics and industry trends
- Strong negotiation and communication skills.
- Ability to build and maintain strong client relationships.
- Results-driven with a focus on achieving and exceeding sales targets
- Strategic thinking and problem-solving skills.
- Familiarity with CRM software and other business development tools
- Bachelor’s degree in business, marketing or a related field *desirable
- Sales experience within the logistics sector *desirable
- Willingness to drive nationwide
- Full UK driving licence
