I am working with a high performing school situated in Bath. It is a welcoming, inclusive community in which students are challenged to develop their own talents while encouraging others to do the same. The school promotes confidence, open-mindedness and tolerance along with creativity and a spirit of enquiry. Academic achievement takes place within the context of all-round personal development, and high standards are combined with a sense of responsibility and service. They encourage students to excel on a personal level while also making a real difference to the lives of others.

We are looking for a kind, open minded person to take on the challenge of becoming part of the staff body in this excellent school. The position is within the Prep school as a part time Early Years practitioner starting immediately. As a member of the staff body you will play a part in offering an inclusive boarding and day community that is free of pretension and balances academic rigour, strength in the arts and sport, traditional values and outstanding pastoral care with a forward-thinking, can-do approach.

Responsibilities:

  • Creating a safe, nuturing and stimulating environment to support the development and learning of young children typically from the ages 9 months -5 years.
  • Observe and assess the children's development to best understand their needs and interests and be a part of important milestones.
  • Provide a well rounded education incorporating physical, emotional and social development with literacy and language.
  • Ensure the safety and well being of all children in your care following safeguarding policies and upkeeping high standards of cleanliness.
  • Building positive strong relationships with families, sharing experiences and milestones.
  • Maintain accurate records of each child's individual needs, behaviour and accomplishments so children are able to constantly progress well beyond their natural potential.

Requirements:

  • Previous experience working with children, particularly of younger ages.
  • Level 3 Early Years qualification or level 2 with experience, paediatric first aid and safeguarding training.
  •  Knowledge of child development with the ability to observe and assess milestones and behaviour.
  • An understanding of relevant safe guarding and child protection procedures.
  • A passion for working with children, to be engaging and encouraging children to explore a balanced and holistic curriculum.
  • An enhanced DBS check and up to date references.
