Role: EYFS/KS1 Teaching Assistant

Location: Dawlish

Start: ASAP

Pay: From £100 per day (depending on experience and qualifications)

Are you someone who lights up around little learners? Do you thrive in playful, nurturing spaces where the small wins mean everything?

We’re proud to be working with a wonderfully welcoming specialist primary setting in Dawlish and they’re on the lookout for a compassionate and committed Teaching Assistant to join their team immediately. This is your chance to be part of a school where curiosity is encouraged, milestones are celebrated and every child is seen and supported.

The Opportunity:

This isn’t just any TA role - it’s about shaping the earliest experiences of children who may need a little extra time, care and creativity to find their feet. You’ll work closely with passionate educators to deliver engaging learning, support emotional development and make every day feel like a safe adventure.

Whether you’re helping a child grasp phonics for the first time, guiding them through a new routine, or joining in during outdoor sensory play, your role will be pivotal in creating a calm, happy and inclusive learning space.

What You’ll Be Doing:

  • Supporting children across EYFS and KS1, with a focus on early literacy, communication and social development
  • Delivering 1:1 and small group interventions, always led by the needs of the child
  • Encouraging independence, confidence and emotional regulation through playful, patient support
  • Using your creativity to bring lessons to life and make learning accessible
  • Working as a trusted team player alongside teaching staff, SEN specialists and families

We’re Looking For Someone Who:

  • Has experience working with children in primary or early years settings (school or nursery)
  • Is calm, adaptable and able to stay upbeat - even when the day doesn;t go to plan
  • Brings a warm, child-led approach and knows how to tune in to non-verbal communication
  • Understands or is keen to learn about phonics, sensory needs and developmental milestones
  • Bonus: Hotels a Level 2 or Level 3 TA qualification

If you want a role where no two days are the same - and every smile means something - this could be the perfect next step. Whether you’re already experienced or have a natural flair for working with children, we would love to hear from you!
