Position: Higher Level Teaching Assistant (HLTA)

Long-term Teachers are seeking a dedicated and enthusiastic Higher Level Teaching Assistant (HLTA). We are supporting a Secondary School based in Exeter to join their team in providing high-quality education and support to students. This position is an excellent opportunity for individuals passionate about making a difference in the lives of young people.
Key Responsibilities:
- Assist teachers in the planning and delivery of engaging and effective lessons.
- Support individual and small groups of students to enhance their learning experience.
- Cover classes and deliver pre-planned lessons in the absence of the teacher.
- Work collaboratively with teaching staff to develop and implement individualised learning plans.
- Provide feedback to students and help track their academic progress.
- Assist in managing classroom behaviour and creating a positive learning environment.
- Participate in staff meetings, training sessions, and continuous professional development opportunities.
- Contribute to the overall ethos and values of the school.
Qualifications and Experience:
- HLTA status or equivalent qualification.
- Experience working in a secondary school setting.
- Strong knowledge of the secondary school curriculum KS3-KS4.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- A commitment to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children.
Desirable:
- Previous experience in a similar role.
- Experience working with students with special educational needs (SEN).
