Teaching Assistant / Classroom Support Assistant - SN5

 

Are you passionate about supporting children’s growth and development in a positive and inclusive environment? My client is seeking a dedicated Teaching Assistant to join a thriving primary school community. In this role, you’ll help students—especially those with ASD and SEMH—flourish emotionally, socially, and academically, while contributing to an engaging and values-driven school culture. This role is avaialble on a Fixed Term Contract for the remainder of the academic year working for 23.75 hours per week, Monday to Friday including Midday lunchtime duties.

What You’ll Be Doing

  • Support the educational, social, and emotional development of children in both group and 1:1 settings.
  • Implement personalized learning plans, especially for pupils with an Educational Health Care Plan (EHCP).
  • Facilitate activities that improve literacy, numeracy, and social skills.
  • Promote positive behavior and build student resilience and self-esteem.
  • Collaborate with teachers and other staff to assess student progress and adapt plans as necessary.

About You

  • Be able to do the job as described.
  • Ideally experienced in working with children with ASD and SEMH, with a flexible and empathetic approach.
  • Have a passion for nurturing emotional literacy and social communication skills.
  • Able to creatively adapt teaching techniques to engage students and foster independence.
