This is a unique opportunity to work in a therapeutic education setting where you’ll make a real difference to the lives of children with a range of Special Educational Needs and Disabilities (SEND).

This role is ideally suited to a teacher who is confident in delivering PSHE as a curriculum specialism and who has experience working within a SEND environment or alternative provision.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Plan and deliver tailored PSHE lessons to small groups and individual learners
  • Create meaningful resources and engaging teaching materials
  • Monitor, record and report on student progress in a holistic and learner-centred way
  • Support students in building confidence, emotional resilience and social skills
  • Collaborate closely with families, carers and multidisciplinary teams
  • Maintain excellent classroom and behaviour management within a therapeutic framework

Ideal Candidate:

  • QTS/QTLS preferred (though strong unqualified teachers with experience will be considered)
  • PSHE specialism is essential for this role
  • Experience working with SEND or within an alternative provision
  • Compassionate, calm and skilled in building positive relationships with vulnerable learners
  • Confident working independently with small groups or 1:1

What You’ll Gain:

  • A meaningful teaching role where your impact is truly felt
  • Supportive leadership and a strong staff-to-student ratio
  • Fully funded training and CPD to support professional growth
  • Enhanced pension, maternity/paternity pay and wellbeing schemes
  • Access to national discount schemes and wellbeing resources
  • Life assurance and access to staff referral bonus scheme

The setting is located across two rural sites on the outskirts of Taunton, offering peaceful, well-resourced spaces that foster therapeutic and inclusive learning.
