We have an exciting opportunity for a dedicated SEMH Teacher to join forward thinking alternative provision in Yeovil, providing high-quality, therapeutic, and child-centred education.
About the School:
Our client is a specialist setting that caters to students from a variety of backgrounds, all with SEMH needs. Many students also have additional Special Educational Needs and Disabilities (SEND), such as Autism, ADHD, and communication difficulties. The school follows a trauma-informed approach, and all staff receive extensive therapeutic training and support to create a safe, nurturing learning environment.
About the Role:
As an SEMH Teacher, you’ll play a key role in shaping the curriculum and extra-curricular opportunities for students. You will:
- Plan and deliver engaging lessons tailored to individual student needs
- Assess and mark work to ensure the highest standards of teaching and learning
- Be actively involved in decision-making that drives the school forward
- Advocate for every student, ensuring they have the support and resources needed to thrive
- Bring your own interests and passions, helping to enhance the school’s offer

We are seeking an experienced, adaptable, and compassionate teacher who is committed to making a real difference in students’ lives. The ideal candidate will:
- Have strong teaching experience (SEMH/SEN experience is highly desirable)
- Be passionate about creating inclusive and engaging learning experiences
- Be a team player who is proactive and flexible
- Have experience with trauma-informed and attachment-aware approaches (or be willing to train)
