We are currently working with a welcoming and inclusive Primary School in the BS32 area of Bristol, who are seeking a dedicated SEN Teaching Assistant to join their team in September.

The Role
As a SEN Teaching Assistant, you will work closely with the class teacher and support a child with additional needs. Your focus will be on helping them access the curriculum, engage in meaningful activities both indoors and outdoors, and thrive socially and academically.
This is a full-time position, continuing until the end of the academic year, with the potential for extension in the new school year.
The Ideal Candidate

- Patient, empathetic, and adaptable, with the ability to respond to the child’s evolving needs.
- Able to build a trusting and consistent relationship with the child.
- Confidence in following the teacher’s lesson plan and ensuring tasks are completed successfully.
- Comfortable preparing the child for transitions and changes in routine.
- Committed to helping the child feel safe, supported, and included in the classroom environment.
Your Responsibilities Will Include:
- Supporting the teacher in delivering inclusive activities both inside and outside the classroom.
- Creating a calm and comfortable learning space for the child.
- Encouraging the child’s social and emotional development.
- Using clear, concise, and literal communication.
- Providing a predictable routine to help reduce anxiety.
- Proactively preparing the child for any changes in the school day.
Working with Long-term Teachers:
We are an independent agency working with Nurseries, Primary, Secondary and Special Schools.
