I am working with a vibrant and inclusive primary school located in Swindon. The school is committed to providing a child - centered education which is nurturing for the children's current needs as well as developing transferable skills for the future. The school is looking for a skilled, compassionate and dedicated teacher to join the community in a Special Educational Needs and Disabilities (SEND) position across KS1 and KS2. This school has a nurturing environment for both teachers and students with a real strive for excellence.

 

The opportunity for this role is full time with a start date commencing in September 2025. As a part of an inclusive community, you will be supporting a SRP Class including children with SEND to help foster the children’s educational journey.


 

Responsibilities

  • Planning and delivery of engaging, knowledge-rich and progressive learning experiences to the needs of SEND students.
  • Capability to provide support to children with a variety of special needs.
  • Using the KAPOW curriculum, which emphasises inclusivity, diversity and celebrating differences, provides teaching material to help develop lifelong skills.
  • Nurture an understanding of the wider world and life skills.
  • Working alongside class teachers in order to support children with a wide range of academic, physical and social needs.
  • One-to-one sessions using school resources and support services within the school.

 

Requirements

  • Previous experience working with children with SEND is advantageous.
  • Enthusiasm for supporting those with education needs and emotional development.
  • Effective interpersonal skills for good communication between students, teachers and parents.
  • Attributes of patience, resilience and adaptability to provide the right support for individual needs.
  • Understanding of safeguarding procedures.
  • SEND teaching qualification
