SEND Teaching Assistant

Long - Term Teachers have a fantastic opportunity for teaching assistants, who have experience supporting SEND students and who are seeking a part time or full time opportunities from September. 


 

We are working with a fantastic mainstream Catholic primary school, which serves the parish of Knowle West and Clifton.  Christian faith and values are at the heart of all they do, both inside and outside the classroom, the headteacher is looking for a TA, who can support the school's ethos. 


 

The role will involve offering classroom support, running small group interventions and 1:1 support to students with a special educational need. Some students will have an EHCP, however some will still be going through a diagnosis, so it is important you have the knowledge to recognise how to support their individual needs. Due to the nature of the role, you must be a caring, patient individual, who can bring a dedicated approach to the workplace. In addition to this, you must be capable of working independently and taking initiative, however also have the ability to work as a team, to handle challenging situations successfully. 


 

Within the role you will predominantly be supporting students, however it will also be expected that you support on breaktime duty, support with activity preparation and maintain a safe, tidy classroom environment. 


 

There are opportunities to work on either a part time or full time basis, Monday to Friday, from 8.30am - 3.30pm, term time only.
