SEND Teaching Assistant

We are working closely with a number of outstanding and supportive primary schools that are actively seeking experienced and newly qualified SEND teaching assistants to join their teams. These roles focus on delivering tailored, high-quality education for pupils with a range of special educational needs, including:
- Autism Spectrum Condition (ASC)
- Speech, Language & Communication Needs
- Social, Emotional & Mental Health (SEMH)
- Moderate Learning Difficulties (MLD)
As a SEND TA, you’ll be planning and delivering differentiated lessons, working collaboratively with SENCOs, Teachers and external agencies to create a safe and stimulating environment for every child to thrive.
Responsibilities:
- Adapting lesson materials, making them accessible to pupils.
- Providing one to one support during class.
- Reinforcing learning objectives set by the teacher.
- Assisting with literacy and numerical tasks breaking them down into more manageable steps.
- Understanding the individual needs of pupils to best support them in class.
- Helping pupils transition between the resource base and mainstream schooling.
Requirements:
- Previous experience working with SEND children.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to engage with the pupil, parents and colleagues effectively.
- Patience, empathy and resilience to meet the diverse needs of students.
- Relevant qualifications and training in supporting children with SEND.
- An understanding of relevant safe guarding and child protection procedures.
