A continually expanding aspect of MapAction’s offer is training in GIS and information management for those working regionally and nationally in disaster preparedness and response. As this aspect of our work continues to grow and evolve, we are seeking volunteers whose more specific focus will be on supporting the creation and maintenance of high quality learning content, and to contribute to the generation of new and innovative ideas for building the capacity of the sector.
In practice, tasks could include reviewing and maintaining MapAction’s catalogue of existing training materials; developing new content; scoping new initiatives and approaches; designing learning needs assessments and training programmes for partner organisations; contextualising existing materials for specific locations; and project managing the delivery of a training programme.
While this role is anticipated to be primarily remote, there will be opportunities if desired, to travel overseas to deliver training or meet with partners.
