Business Development Manager – Industrial Pumps

This is an opportunity to join a global OEM within industrial pumps. We’re looking for an experienced, professional BDM / senior sales engineer, you will be self-motivated and organized because there will be a level of freedom in the role, the opposite to micromanagement.
You will be able to learn from experienced colleagues to develop personally and professionally. They have a personable and welcoming culture so you will have support in the day-to-day as well as formal product training to OEM standard. It is a very stable position for the long term as they’re a well-established business with strong customer relationships in key markets such as water, industrial process, chemicals, pulp & paper, energy, oil and gas and others.
The Role
You will cover the UK with the following responsibilities:
- Use a consultative, specification led approach to drive new business and develop existing accounts to increase the performance of your area
- Sell into a wide range of industrial applications: oil and gas, process, water, chemicals etc.
- 70% travel across the UK to visit customers, managing your own diary
Business Development Manager Requirements
- Mechanical engineering background – able to read engineering drawings, understand process technology, read a P&ID / mechanical flow diagram
- Experience in a similar role: Area Sales Manager / Business Development Manager / Field Sales Engineer / Internal Sales Engineer / Applications Engineer
- Living central in the UK you could be in or near Manchester, Liverpool, Warrington, Wigan, Bolton, Stockport, Huddersfield, Leeds, Bradford, Sheffield, Hull, St Helens, Runcorn, Oldham, Halifax, Wakefield, Castleford, Barnsley, Rotherham, Pontefract, Doncaster, Coventry, Birmingham, Leicester, Lincoln, Nottingham, Milton Keynes, Bedford, Swindon, London.
