Role: CMM Programmer (MCOSMOS)

Due to recent investment and restructure across the business this has created the need to appoint an experienced CMM Programmer (MCOSMOS) to join the team based in the Lancashire/ west riding of Yorkshire area.

As the CMM Programmer you’ll regularly collaborate with external process partners including Rolls Royce, Airbus and Siemens and continue to develop your career to the next stage.
This business has some of the best technology when it comes to machines capability that allows Three, Four and five axes CNC machining, in-house design capability, as well as a highly skilled convention toolroom machining capability.
As the new CMM Programmer, you’ll have the following key responsibilities.
- Management of the CMM Network
- Offline CMM Programming using MCOSMOS
- CMM Scanning programming
- Fixture design using Catia
- Measurelink and Process Capability
- Manually checking CMM results using conventional inspection equipment
- Provide shop support on daily CMM issues
- Equator programming
- CADAR programming
In order to be successful in the CMM Programmer position you’ll ideally have the following skills and experience;
- You’ll be Experienced in Aircraft Structure parts and have working experience with Aero Engine parts
- You’ll be fully conversant with Mitutoyo MCOSMOS software with the ability to fully programme offline (Cradle to grave)
- You’ll be a time Served Skilled Engineer / HNC Qualified
- MSA (Measurement Systems Analysis)
- Experience of MBD (Model Based Definition)
- Experience of 2D drawings and customer COS
- Competent communicator
- Ability to solve problems
- Able to work unsupervised to ensure all above duties are completed.
- Basic and Advanced Mitutoyo knowledge
- Probe contact scanning
- Competent Catia user
These are the core duties and responsibilities however, additional tasks may be required to meet the needs of an agile business, following agreement with the Engineering Manager.
