Fermentation Manager
Location: Milwaukee
Salary: $70,000 to $80,000 DOE
We are seeking an experienced and highly motivated Fermentation Manager to oversee all aspects of fermentation and freeze-drying operations at Plant 1. The successful candidate will be responsible for ensuring a steady supply of stock culture to meet internal and external budget and forecast requirements, while maintaining quality and production efficiency. This role involves scheduling, managing personnel, and driving continuous improvement in production processes.
Key Duties and Responsibilities:
- Develop and manage fermentation schedules and stock culture purchases to align with budget, forecast needs, and current inventory and yield status.
- Oversee Plant 1 production to meet volume, quality, and financial goals.
- Collaborate with the Fermentation Technical Manager to review Plant 1 performance and implement process and product improvements.
- Ensure compliance with all quality, safety, and regulatory programs relevant to Specialties Operations.
- Supervise and lead fermentation and freeze-drying personnel, ensuring effective team performance and development.
Education and Skills Requirements:
- Bachelor's degree in a science or engineering discipline with relevant experience in industrial fermentation or a related field. Previous supervisory experience is required.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills, including the ability to interact with internal and external stakeholders, and communicate effectively with speakers of English as a second language.
