Field Service and Sales Engineer - UK & Ireland

MRO & Rotating Equipment | Pump Reliability | Preventative Maintenance Solutions

Basic Salary c£55,000 | Bonus c£25,000 | Car + Pension + Healthcare | Training & Development

You know what unplanned downtime costs a plant. You understand why a pump failing at 2.00am matters. Now come and help prevent it.

This business has spent over 40 years perfecting the science of predicting failure before it happens - before a bearing seizes, before a pump runs dry, before an unplanned shutdown costs a plant hundreds of thousands of pounds. Their patented condition monitoring technology is trusted across the world's most demanding industries: oil and gas, mining, marine, pulp and paper, power generation, food and beverage, iron and steel.

They are not a reseller. They are not a distributor. They design, develop and manufacture everything - from wireless sensors and portable instruments to online monitoring systems and the software that ties it all together. That's a very different conversation to have with a customer.

The Role

This is a field-based Service and Sales Engineer role covering the UK and Ireland. You will be visiting customer sites - manufacturing plants, process facilities, utilities - building genuine relationships with maintenance engineers, reliability managers, MRO procurement teams, and plant managers. Your job is to understand their rotating equipment challenges and match them to the right solution from the portfolio.

The portfolio includes:

  • Portable instruments for sophisticated condition monitoring, including ATEX-certified variants for hazardous zones
  • Permanently installed online systems for continuous machine surveillance across rotating equipment assets
  • Wireless vibration sensors for remote monitoring in hard-to-reach or explosive environments
  • Diagnostic and analysis software — the intelligence layer that turns data into decisions
  • Precision laser shaft alignment tools for corrective and preventative maintenance programmes
  • A full range of transducers, transmitters, sensors and cabling to complete any MRO solution

You are not selling a box. You are selling a pump reliability strategy, a rotating equipment programme, a preventative maintenance philosophy. The candidate who understands that distinction will thrive. The one who doesn't will struggle.

Who We're Looking For

  • You bring a combination of technical credibility and commercial drive. You know rotating equipment - pumps, compressors, fans, motors, gearboxes - and you understand why MRO decisions matter to plant reliability. Specifically, we are looking for:
  • Proven technical sales experience - a pipeline you built yourself, deals you closed yourself, solutions you sold not just described
  • A solid mechanical qualification; you need the engineering foundation to have credible conversations about protecting critical rotating assets
  • A genuine working understanding of rotating equipment, pump reliability principles, and the maintenance strategies that surround them
  • Commercial awareness around MRO procurement cycles, maintenance budgets, and the business case for preventative over reactive maintenance
  • Proficiency with CRM systems, Word, Excel, PowerPoint - and the discipline to keep records that genuinely drive pipeline activity

What Will Make You Stand Out

These are not prerequisites, but they will accelerate your impact:

  • Hands-on condition monitoring experience from the maintenance or reliability engineering side of a plant
  • Direct involvement in preventative maintenance programme design or MRO strategy within an industrial environment
  • Familiarity with pump reliability frameworks - bearing analysis, vibration analysis, shaft alignment, seal management
  • Experience selling into Ireland

What's On Offer

This is a role for someone who wants to own a territory, not manage one. Here is what comes with it:

  • Company vehicle - the territory does not cover itself
  • Private healthcare and company pension
  • Laptop and phone
  • Annual performance bonus - results deserve recognition
  • Structured training and development, including access to the Company Academy and technical certification support
  • The commercial weight of a globally recognised brand with 50 years of proven rotating equipment technology behind every conversation

Don't just attach your CV. Tell us what you've sold, where you've sold it, and why you are the person to drive pump reliability and rotating equipment solutions across one of the most technically demanding territories in the UK and Ireland.

The rotating equipment your customers depend on doesn't get second chances. Neither does a missed sales opportunity.
