Our Client is a group of companies specialising in HVAC, critical ventilation, commissioning, water treatment, fire systems, M&E building services, and facility management engineering. We provide a one-stop solution with competitive pricing and reduced lead times, ensuring streamlined processes to support estates and site managers efficiently.

The fire protection division offers services focused on fire dampers, fire compartmentation, and fire doors. Engineers carry out inspections and remedial work nationwide. Due to rapid growth in the Fire Door division, the team is expanding.

Main Duties

Conduct site inspections and surveys for passive fire protection systems, including fire stopping, facades, fire doors, cavity barriers, ductwork, fire dampers, and fire-resistant coatings

Proactively identify defects and non-compliances, document them with photographs, and report via Boris software

Verify that passive fire protection installations comply with certified details, fire test reports, and manufacturer specifications

Apply and install intumescent coatings, firestopping systems, cavity barriers, structural boarding, and carry out remedial works

Support additional fire protection services as required

 

Person Specification

  • Minimum of 3 years’ experience surveying within the Passive Fire Protection industry
  • Strong knowledge of BS 9999:2017, HTM 05-02, HTM 05-03, and the Regulatory Reform (Fire Safety) Order 2005
  • Familiarity with firestopping products, installation techniques, and relevant building regulations
  • Ability to work methodically, follow procedures, and maintain accurate records
  • Self-motivated with a keen eye for identifying additional potential works
  • Experience in customer-focused roles and competence in using BORIS software
  • Skilled in interpreting technical data, drawings, and instructions
  • Demonstrated organisational and time management capabilities

 

Qualifications and Experience

  • NVQ Level 2 in Passive Fire Protection (required)
  • CSCS card (required)
  • FIRAS training (preferred)
  • IPAF certification considered beneficial
  • At least 5 years’ experience across all aspects of Passive Fire Protection in various building types
