Are you a passionate and skilled Manufacturing Engineer looking to make a significant impact in a dynamic and innovative environment? We are seeking a talented individual to join our team and drive the delivery of complex components and processes across value streams to meet customer requirements.
Job Purpose: As a Manufacturing Engineer, you will play a crucial role in supporting the delivery of engineering capabilities to meet customer needs. You will work closely with operations leaders, program management, and customers to ensure successful project outcomes.
Key Responsibilities:
- Part of the team involved in technical projects to deliver rate-capable solutions on time, within budget, and to the highest quality standards.
- Apply engineering knowledge to meet specified design requirements and ensure product quality assurance.
- Interpret and assess technical requirements from 3D models, 2D drawings, specifications, and instructions.
- Support production solutions and equipment requirements, including conceptual and detailed design of capital equipment.
- Develop current designs, standards, practices, and procedures.
- Assess the safety and environmental impact of new equipment and processes, ensuring compliance with legal regulations.
- Investigate and address causes of non-conformance in accordance with company quality policies.
- Drive continuous improvement initiatives to enhance efficiency, reduce waste, and lower costs.
- Apply quality planning principles to process and product design at all stages of industrialization.
- Provide robust, capable processes, fixtures, and instructions to ensure First Time Right capability.
- Deliver relevant production documentation and support the training and development of operations teams.
- Contribute to manufacturing system design and simulation activities.
- Review process data to optimize process capability using Lean Six Sigma methodologies.
- Conduct process development trials and testing in line with DoE methodologies.
Preferred Skills and Experience:
- HND or degree qualified in mechanical engineering or a relevant technical subject.
- Ability to visualize novel and complex manufacturing solutions.
- Experience in manufacturing system design and discrete event simulation.
- In-depth knowledge of complex components and processes such as multi-axis machining, wet treatments, surface modification, ALM, bonding, joining, and final assembly.
- Strong cross-functional management skills to handle competing priorities.
- Excellent stakeholder management and relationship-building abilities.
