Do you sometimes get the feeling that the work part of your life is some kind of uneasy dream and, more importantly, exactly whose dream it is, and whether they are enjoying it? It really doesn’t have to be that way.

Traditional sales roles are predominately focused on brand new business. This opportunity is different; you will begin this role with long standing existing accounts to leverage. Instantly making an impact. Of course, you will have to secure new customers as part of the role. Who doesn’t?

But, yes, you can have your cake and eat it.

As the Area Sales Manager, you will be key to the growth of the business by creating, managing and growing relationships. Ideally you will have a similar background – selling solutions into the food production sector, or at least some experience of the food industry.

The Business:

With a history stretching back over 60 years, this business is now the world’s market leader across its product portfolio for the food production sector. They are a company that consistently delivers high quality products and service levels with an excellent reputation with their customers, supplying major food businesses across the UK. You will have total flexibility to plan and manage your working day as you see fit. You will be building high level relationships from key customers with a view to cross selling, upselling and enhancing turnover and commitment from major businesses.

What You Will Do:

You will take a lead role in the company’s sales team by supporting the Head of Sales to develop new product streams with existing customers as well as win new business relationships. This is a home-based role that requires regular customer visits on a national basis. We are looking for ambitious commercially savvy individuals. Although you will be supported by colleagues, we expect you to be a self-starter, motivated and eager learn new skills.

  • Developing growth strategies and plans
  • Managing and retaining relationships with existing clients
  • Negotiating with stakeholders
  • Identifying, mapping and winning new business opportunities
  • Having an in-depth knowledge of business products and value proposition
  • Drafting and reviewing contracts
  • Developing and maintaining strong internal relationships, including overseas offices

What You Will Need:

  • High-level communication and stakeholder management skills
  • Advanced negotiation skills
  • Experience with design and implementation of business development strategy
  • Conflict resolution
  • The ability to self-motivate
  • Experience of setting, working to and exceeding targets
  • Ideally with experience of selling into the food production sector – this is not a pre-requisite.

Colleagues enjoy working in a growing, fast-paced and challenging environment.  They embrace change as being constant and work together to ensure the continued success and growth of the business in UK and Ireland. You will be joining a global business who focus on creating long-term value for customers and employees. This drives a sustained competitive advantage in a dynamic global market. The companies achieve success by developing industry-leading technology, investing globally and delivering results for customers and creating career opportunities and development for colleagues.

The best part of this is, if you are successful in getting the job, we guarantee that you are going to love it. Why? For every 100 people we recruit, 96% are still with their company 12-months later, and 94% are still there 2-years later. That speaks for itself.
