Mercury Hampton is currently partnering with a leading manufacturer of industrial equipment and machinery, Our global client is seeking an experienced and strategic Sales Director to lead their sales efforts across the United States. In this pivotal role, you will be responsible for driving revenue growth, expanding market share, and building strong relationships with key customers and partners nationwide.
Sales Strategy and Execution
- Develop and implement comprehensive sales strategies to target new clients and deepen existing customer relationships across various industries, including oil and gas, power generation, mining, and manufacturing
- Analyze market trends, competitive intelligence, and customer needs to identify growth opportunities and inform the sales approach
- Collaborate with the marketing team to create targeted campaigns, promotional materials, and sales enablement tools to support the sales efforts
- Prepare and present high-level sales proposals, contracts, and presentations to secure new business and maintain strong customer relationships
Sales Management
- Oversee a team of regional sales managers and representatives, providing guidance, coaching, and performance management to ensure they are equipped to effectively sell the company's products and solutions
- Establish clear sales goals, metrics, and accountability measures to drive team performance and achieve revenue targets
- Implement sales training programs to enhance the team's product knowledge, selling skills, and customer relationship management capabilities
Cross-functional Collaboration
- Work closely with the product development, operations, and customer service teams to ensure seamless customer experiences and timely delivery of products and services
- Provide regular updates on sales pipeline, forecasts, and key performance metrics to the executive leadership team
- Represent the company at industry events, trade shows, and client meetings to raise the brand profile and identify new business opportunities
Qualification and Skills
- Bachelor's degree in Business, Engineering, or a related field
- Minimum 10 years of progressive sales leadership experience within the industrial manufacturing sector, with a proven track record of consistently exceeding sales targets and growing market share
- Exceptional communication, negotiation, and presentation skills with the ability to influence decision-makers at the C-suite level
- Deep understanding of the industrial manufacturing landscape, including key trends, competitors, customer requirements, and industry regulations
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills to interpret data, identify insights, and develop strategic sales plans
- Proficient in using CRM software and other sales enablement tools to manage the sales pipeline and track performance
- Excellent team leadership and people management skills, with the ability to motivate and develop a high-performing sales team
- Willingness to travel extensively throughout the United States to meet with clients and attend industry events
