Exam Invigilator (several roles available) - Budapest
Location: Avicenna College, Budapest (Orczy út 3-5, Budapest, 1089, Hungary)
Become a UK Exam Invigilator (IELTS and potentially other professional or language exams)! We are currently recruiting suitably qualified and experienced individuals to join our freelance team of local invigilators (venue staff) for examinations organised by our partner college in Budapest on behalf of The British Council. The roles will be engaged under an hourly-paid self-employed service agreement. The gross hourly pay is within a range and depends on experience and performance (3,000 - 4,600 HUF per hour gross). You will be offered work shifts in advance that you can either accept or decline, making this role suitable for fitting around other life factors or part-time jobs.

Role Title:
Invigilator
Role Purpose:
To ensure that all exams runs smoothly on the test days and that all assigned test day duties and standards are met.
Role duties:
You will be responsible for maintaining the integrity and reputation of the various exams (including IELTS) by ensuring that tests are delivered to prescribed standards for customer service, security and administration.
You will also be accountable for providing a high standard of customer care on the test day.
Exam delivery support
▪ Report promptly to test venue at agreed time. In case of any delays or if unable to get to the test venue, inform the appropriate supervisors or managers in a timely manner.
▪ Follow all relevant standards & procedures, based on training and reference materials provided.
▪ Be familiar with the emergency procedures for the test day venue.
▪ Invigilate examinations to the standard required.
▪ Actively monitor candidates during tests to make sure that there is no violation of test conditions (looking out for and reporting any “malpractice” or “cheating”).
▪ Support the supervisor to ensure that candidates have a positive and consistent test day experience
▪ Ensure all test taker data and exam materials and questions are kept confidential
▪ Complete all reports, logs and claims accurately as required by
▪ Follow all relevant guidelines and policies in the areas of: Data Protection, Child Protection, Health & Safety, Equal Opportunities and Diversity, and Anti-Fraud.
▪ Report any incidents, emergencies or breaches of security to the appropriate test day supervisor.
▪ Work with the test day supervisor to promote and ensure the wellbeing of candidates at all time. In case of emergencies, follow correct procedures.
Customer support
▪ Provide good customer service and be pleasant and polite with candidates throughout the test day.
▪ Enable good customer flow by giving candidates clear direction and answering their enquiries.
▪ Ensure that candidates follow the agreed exam procedures regarding the location and security of their belongings.
▪ Conduct candidate entry, exit, identity checks and Test Day Photography procedures according to exam requirements.
▪ Ensure any special arrangements are provided as required.
Training and development
▪ Attend all training sessions as requested.
▪ Complete all online mandatory training modules (e.g. Child Protection) as required.
