This role is essential in ensuring accurate and timely payment of wages, while maintaining compliance with all payroll regulations.
Role Overview:
The Payroll Clerk will manage payroll processes, address payroll-related queries, and ensure all financial records are accurate. You will play a crucial role in supporting our employees and contributing to the efficiency of our financial operations.
Responsibilities:
- Process weekly, bi-weekly, or monthly payrolls accurately and on time.
- Maintain and update employee payroll records, including tax information, benefits, and deductions.
- Calculate and verify overtime, bonuses, and other variable payments.
- Ensure compliance with all relevant legal requirements, including tax codes, pensions, and statutory deductions.
- Address employee payroll queries promptly and professionally.
- Reconcile payroll accounts and prepare reports for management.
- Collaborate with HR and Finance teams to ensure seamless payroll and benefits administration.
- Assist with audits and provide payroll data as needed.
Requirements:
- Proven experience in payroll processing or a related finance role.
- Strong understanding of payroll systems, tax codes, and statutory requirements.
- Excellent numerical and analytical skills with a keen eye for detail.
- Proficiency in payroll software and Microsoft Excel.
- Strong organizational skills and the ability to manage deadlines.
- Confidentiality and integrity when handling sensitive information.
- A payroll certification (e.g., CIPP qualification) is desirable but not essential.
