As a part of our continuous growth and expansion, we are currently seeking a skilled and experienced temporary Operational Resilience Analyst to join our dynamic Operations Department team.
Job Purpose:
The Operational Resilience Analyst will work closely with the Operational Resilience Manager to ensure the bank's resilience strategy aligns with UK regulatory requirements. This role will focus on maintaining and strengthening the bank’s ability to continue critical services during disruptions. The successful candidate will collaborate with key business stakeholders, facilitate scenario testing, and contribute to developing and maintaining resilience policies and contingency plans.
Key Responsibilities:
- Support Operational Resilience Objectives:
- Assist in delivering the bank's Operational Resilience objectives in line with UK regulations and guidelines.
- Collaborate with the Operational Resilience Manager on key initiatives related to resilience.
- Mapping and Impact Tolerances:
- Help maintain and update Important Business Services (IBS), ensure proper mapping, and establish impact tolerances for each business service.
- Advisory and Guidance:
- Serve as the point of contact and subject matter expert (SME) for resilience queries and provide advice and guidance to business service owners.
- Stakeholder Collaboration:
- Build and maintain strong relationships with Business Service Owners (BSOs) and other key stakeholders across NBK International to ensure alignment with resilience requirements.
- Scenario Testing and Exercises:
- Assist in the development and execution of severe but plausible scenario tests, such as desk-based exercises, simulations, and data analysis.
- Support post-test activities, including producing detailed reports, identifying vulnerabilities, and working with BSOs to document and assess contingency plans.
- Contingency Plan Evaluation:
- Work closely with business owners to evaluate the effectiveness of contingency plans and solutions for responding to severe scenarios, ensuring their viability and robustness.
- Engagement in Operational Resilience Forums:
- Participate in internal and external forums to update senior stakeholders on ongoing resilience efforts and escalate any identified issues or risks.
- Documentation and Reporting:
- Maintain up-to-date policies, procedures, and resilience plans. Ensure accurate documentation is accessible and regularly updated.
- Resilience Training:
- Support the delivery of both formal and informal resilience training to employees at various levels, ensuring a bank-wide understanding of resilience strategies.
- Deputising Role:
- Act as the deputy for the Operational Resilience Manager when necessary, ensuring continuity of responsibilities.
Required Experience and Skills:
- Financial Services Experience: Proven experience working within the financial services industry, with a particular focus on banking and markets.
- Regulatory Knowledge: Understanding of the UK’s Operational Resilience regulations. Experience delivering resilience strategies within this regulatory space is desirable.
- Analytical and Problem-Solving Skills: Ability to analyze complex issues, assess risks, and develop effective resilience strategies. Strong attention to detail is essential.
- Scenario Testing Experience: Prior experience in scenario or stress testing, with the ability to assess and refine testing exercises and outcomes.
- Stakeholder Management: Excellent stakeholder management skills, with the confidence to provide advice and challenge at all levels of the organization.
- Communication Skills: Strong verbal and written communication skills, capable of producing clear, concise reports and delivering effective presentations.
- Multi-tasking and Organization: Ability to manage multiple tasks simultaneously while maintaining a focus on quality and deadlines.
