Position: Help Desk Specialist

Position Overview:
We are seeking a highly motivated Help Desk Specialist to join our team during the busiest time of the year - the National Western Stock Show event. In this role, you will be the main point of contact for all technical support issues, providing exceptional assistance to our staff and exhibitors. The ideal candidate will have a strong technical background, excellent communication skills, and a passion for providing excellent customer service.
Key Responsibilities:
- Act as the first point of contact for all technical support issues, including hardware, software, and network problems
- Troubleshoot and resolve technical issues in a timely and efficient manner
- Monitor and maintain all hardware, software, and network systems to ensure proper functioning and security
- Install and configure new equipment and software as needed
- Provide end-user training and technical assistance to staff and exhibitors
- Create and maintain documentation for commonly encountered technical issues
- Collaborate with other IT team members to escalate complex issues
- Proactively identify and resolve potential issues to prevent downtime
- Participate in after-hours support as needed during the National Western Stock Show event
Qualifications:
- High school diploma or equivalent, with a relevant college degree or certification preferred
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite and Windows operating systems
- Familiarity with networking, remote desktop, and Active Directory
- Excellent troubleshooting and problem-solving skills
- Strong verbal and written communication skills
- Ability to work under pressure and handle multiple tasks simultaneously
- A team player who is also able to work independently with minimal supervision
- Availability to work on weekends and evenings as needed during the National Western Stock Show event
