Native is looking for a highly experienced Chief Operating Officer / Managing Director to support the CEO in running the business and overseeing its growth and development. The successful candidate will be responsible for managing multiple teams and leaders within the company, as well as providing strategic advice and guidance to the board of directors.

 

Key responsibilities include:

  • Directing and controlling the work and resources of the company, ensuring that it achieves its mission and objectives
  • Serving as a liaison between the CEO and various teams and senior leaders, managing project updates, proposals, and hiring
  • Providing tools and resources to the leadership team to help them achieve their goals
  • Overseeing strategic business initiatives from development through successful execution
  • Reviewing and improving the organisational structure, identifying knowledge and skills gaps, and providing solutions
  • Preparing a business plan for the CEO to review, and monitoring progress against the plan to ensure that the company meets its objectives
  • Providing strategic advice and guidance to the board of directors to keep them informed of industry developments and ensure that appropriate policies are in place
  • Establishing and maintaining effective relationships with key stakeholders, including customers, government agencies, and local authorities
  • Overseeing the preparation of the annual budget and ensuring that financial targets are met
  • Representing the company in negotiations with customers, suppliers, and other key contacts
  • Preparing and reviewing the annual report and accounts of the company.

The ideal candidate will have a proven track record of success in senior-level general or commercial management, preferably in a relevant business stage. They should have at least 10 years' experience in the management of people and resources, and demonstrated success leading large, complex projects across teams or organisations.

 

Additional requirements include:

  • Strong leadership skills, including the ability to motivate and manage teams effectively
  • Strategic thinking and problem-solving abilities, with the ability to define the problem, assess options, recommend solutions, and drive to a decision
  • Excellent interpersonal and influencing skills, with the ability to negotiate with stakeholders and build relationships
  • Excellent communication skills, including the ability to effectively communicate with a wide range of people at all levels
  • Strong analytical skills, with the ability to interpret data and make informed decisions
  • A bachelor's degree or higher in a relevant field.
