We’re looking for a highly motivated and proactive Sales Development Representative (SDR) to join our growing US team. In this role, you’ll play a key part in driving our expansion into the US market, focusing on building relationships with Students’ Unions, identifying new opportunities, and supporting our partnerships team in closing deals.
About the Role:
The SDR will be responsible for identifying and prospecting potential new Students' Union partnerships across the United States. You’ll be a key part of the team that lays the groundwork for success, generating leads, qualifying prospects, and setting up meetings for the Partnerships Managers. This role is crucial to our market penetration strategy and offers growth opportunities for anyone eager to contribute to a rapidly growing startup with a meaningful mission.
What You’ll Be Doing:
- Prospecting & Lead Generation:
- Identify and research new prospects across US universities.
- Use a mix of tools (cold outreach, LinkedIn, email, etc.) to build and qualify leads.
- Engage in outreach to universities and key decision-makers to introduce native’s offerings and value proposition.
- Qualification & Appointment Setting:
- Qualify inbound leads, ensuring they meet the ideal customer profile for SUs.
- Schedule meetings and demos for the Partnerships Managers to move the sales cycle forward.
- Maintain a pipeline of potential opportunities and track outreach efforts in CRM.
- Relationship Building:
- Initiate relationships with universities, gathering information about their needs and pain points.
- Communicate the value of native’s products and how they can enhance student engagement, funding, and overall university success.
- Cultivate a strong network of contacts at universities and within the university landscape.
- Collaboration:
- Work closely with the Partnerships team to ensure smooth handover of qualified leads.
- Collaborate with the marketing team to tailor outreach campaigns and messages.
- Provide feedback on lead quality and insights from prospects to help refine the sales process.
- Market Intelligence:
- Stay up to date with industry trends, competitor offerings, and the specific challenges faced by universities in the US.
- Use your insights to help shape outreach strategies and improve targeting.
- Reporting & KPI Tracking:
- Track and report on outreach activities, lead generation success, and progress towards KPIs.
- Maintain accurate records in CRM, ensuring data is up to date and accurate.
What You’ll Need:
- 1-3 years of experience in sales development, lead generation, or a similar role, ideally in the education or technology sectors.
- Strong communication skills, with the ability to engage and build relationships with stakeholders at all levels.
- A proactive, self-motivated mindset with a hunger to generate leads and drive results.
- Ability to handle rejection and stay resilient in a fast-paced environment.
- A passion for education, student engagement, and the mission of improving student life.
- Familiarity with CRM tools (e.g., Salesforce, HubSpot) and outreach platforms (e.g., LinkedIn Sales Navigator, email automation tools).
- Knowledge of the US higher education landscape, especially the challenges and opportunities faced by Students' Unions, is a plus.
- Excellent organizational skills and the ability to manage a pipeline effectively.
