Functional Safety Manager
Locations: Dallas, Texas / San Jose, California

Nebula Microsystems is seeking an experienced Functional Safety Manager to be part of a team of industry experts to incorporate product differentiation for customers.
Requirements
- Master (or higher) of Science in Electrical Engineering, Electronics Technology, Electrical Engineering Technology, Electrical and Computer Engineering or related field with 5 years of relevant experience
- Excellent working knowledge of ISO 26262 and IEC 61508.
- Knowledgeable in technical risk analyses, e.g., FMEA, FMEDA, FTA, ...
- Experience with Safety Audits/Assessments.
- Familiarity with ISO 26262 certified or Qualified software tools usage for product development such as requirement management (i.e., Doors, Jama) and safety analysis
- Expertise with all phases of the semiconductor development life cycle is preferred but not required
- Experience in dealing with external customers is beneficial
- Strong problem-solving skills with a continuous improvement mindset
- Excellent oral/written communication and presentation skills
- Candidate must be able to work effective in a highly cross functional environment, collaborating with the stakeholders of all the team involved (marketing, system, design, …) to resolve issues and generate business success.
Responsibilities
- Manage Functional Safety development processes, tools, and documentation standards
- Evaluate, develop, and implement policies, standards, and practices to ensure business success of functional safety products
- Lead safety reviews to ensure correct implementation of safety features in HW & SW to ensure that design development has followed the right development processes.
- Supports key customer engagements as a Functional Safety subject matter expert, ensuring that the functional safety requirements are correctly identified, and the correct engagement framework is established.
- Develop team training plans to establish a safety culture and enable development of Functional Safety technical work products
- Act as the primary point of contact for all safety related concerns during product development and work proactively to resolve identified issues
- Work with management on compliance status, promptly identifying any gaps and developing mitigation strategy.
