Driver - Health Care Assistant Program at Neskonlith Indian Band

Position Title: Driver - Health Care Assistant Program

Reporting to: Director of Health

Status: Part-time (20 hrs per week)

Term: September 2024 – June 2025

Location: Neskonlith Indian Band, Chase, BC

Salary Range: $23 – $26 per hour

Job Summary:

To provide support to the Lakes Bands students participating in the Health Care Assistant Program at Okanagan College in Salmon Arm.  Driver will be required to drive a vehicle Monday to Thursday from Chase, B.C to Salmon arm, B.C. The Driver will leave Chase at approximately 7:30 am and return from Salmon Arm at approximately 3:30 pm. Class 4 Driver training could be provided to suitable applicant.

Key Duties and Responsibilities:

• Be prepared to drive the HCAP vehicle every weekday morning.
• Ensure the vehicle is in safe driving condition.
• Ensure the vehicle is properly fueled, serviced, clean, and ready for travel.
• Have a pleasant demeanour and patience.
• Good communication skills and reliability.

Required Qualifications:

• Have a pleasant demeanour and patience.
• Good communication skills and reliability.
• Ability to communicate effectively both orally and in writing.
• First Nations and cross-cultural experience an asset.
• Ability to work independently or with limited supervision and to work in a team setting.
• Must possess a post-secondary diploma/certificate.
• Valid BC Driver's License and access to a reliable vehicle.
• Acceptable and current RCMP Criminal Record Check.
• Clean Driver's abstract.
