Technical Game Designer/Level Designer
We're looking for a talented and ambitious Technical Game Designer/Level Designer to design and implement game systems and levels for our mobile games. Our team is small, so despite the game and level design focus, the ideal candidate can wear many hats and collaborate on other aspects of the game, such UX design, coding, and/or game art. We are primarily looking for a full-time hire but are also open to a freelance/contract position. Position can be remote, but you must be located in the United States.
Over the course of your employment, you will work on many different games, but to start with you will likely contribute to our promising soft launched games Block Jam 3D and/or Golf Guys.
What you will do
- Design gameplays, economies, and progression systems
- Light coding to implement gameplay mechanics in Unity C#
- Conceptualizing and constructing fun, balanced levels, from puzzle levels to multiplayer 3D maps in Unity
- Rigorously playtesting of levels and providing feedback on others' to identify issues, suggest improvements, and polish the gameplay
- Get involved in all aspects of game development: UI, UX, game design, etc
What you need to have
- 2+ years of experience with game development
- Knowledge of scripting with C# and working in Unity
- A solid understanding of game design and good instincts for fun gameplay
- A portfolio of games you’ve worked on, preferably mobile (please include list of games you’ve worked on)
- Eagerness to join a small, growing, and ambitious team dedicated to making the next hit mobile game
Bonus
- Experience with mobile and F2P meta, systems, and economies
- Basic modeling within Blender
- Understanding of UI/UX design and implementation within Unity
- Background in art, design, or a related field
