As part of our first 50+ hires, you’ll play a key role in shaping our culture and enjoy significant opportunities for growth and progression.
- Oversee and Enhance Payment Operations: Ensure smooth execution of all payment-related activities, including pension withdrawals, refunds, and contribution payments. Maintain oversight of payment service providers and partners to guarantee reliability and efficiency.
- Lead Pension Drawdown Operations: Manage withdrawal processes, authorise payments, and collaborate with Finance to keep accounts reconciled.
- Monitor Payment Processing Systems: Work with internal and external stakeholders to set up and ensure payment platforms and banking integrations operate seamlessly, identifying and resolving issues proactively.
- Ensure Compliance: Stay up-to-date with UK pension regulations, tax laws, and GDPR, embedding them into Penfold’s processes to mitigate risks and ensure regulatory adherence in operations.
- Inspire Your Team: Lead and develop a high-performing team, fostering a culture of innovation, collaboration, and operational excellence.
- Streamline Processes: Optimise workflows and systems, collaborating with our tech teams to automate and enhance payment processing, reconciliation, and reporting.
- Analyse and Report Payment Performance: Monitor KPIs related to payment processing times, failure rates, and reconciliation accuracy, implementing improvements based on data-driven insights.
- Be a Member Champion: Handle pension-related payment queries with professionalism, supporting our reputation for outstanding service.
- Drive Continuous Improvement: Identify areas for operational enhancements and cost efficiencies, implementing best practices to elevate payment operations.
What We’re Looking For
- Experience: Proven expertise in payment operations management within the UK, with a solid track record of accuracy and efficiency. Experience in fintech or startups is a bonus.
- Knowledge: An solid understanding of payment operations, running operational processes, and reviewing and adhering to compliance requirements. Knowledge of payroll systems is a plus.
- Skills: Exceptional proficiency in advanced spreadsheets, strong problem-solving abilities, and outstanding communication skills to effectively liaise with stakeholders.
- Mindset: Highly detail-oriented, process-driven, proactive, and focused on implementing effective controls, with a passion for delivering exceptional results.
- Leadership: Demonstrated ability to lead and manage teams effectively, inspiring, empowering, and supporting team members to achieve their full potential.
