Our client’s success is based upon supporting a global customer base with the design and manufacturing of completely customisable lithium-ion, NiMH battery packs and chargers. Currently supplying the medical, health and safety, specialised tools, and prosumer industries, they are looking to expand into new and lucrative areas in the market, and to provide electronics manufacturers with the very best and most reliable batteries. Quality Engineer- Responsibilities

  • Implement, maintain and improve the business’ Quality Management System.
  • Ensure compliance to all relevant company, legislative and technical policies and standards.
  • Deploy structured problem-solving techniques to drive continuous improvement of the Quality Management System and enhance product quality.
  • Liaise with other departments including Production, Engineering, Finance.
  • Conduct regular internal audits in line with business processes.
  • Host third party audits to ensure the continuous attainment of standards such as ISO 9001 and ISO 13485.
  • Work with suppliers to ensure quality assured product is delivered to production.
  • Support Purchasing function in approving new vendors.
  • Carry out on site and remote quality audits as required.
  • Review and approve supplier 8D responses.

 

Quality Engineer- Knowledge, Skills and Experience

  • Excellent communication skills.
  • Ability to provide guidance to improve quality and process efficiency of supplied parts.
  • Experience in a similar manufacturing environment with production processes relevant to the role and the business.
  • Previous experience with PCBA manufacture and surface mount machinery highly desirable.
  • Ability to professionally manage conflict resolution.
  • Ability to manage risk to product quality and factor this into decision making on supplied materials in collaboration with other business departments.
  • Sound knowledge of regulatory standards relevant to product quality.
