Job Objective:
As a Mobile Engineering Lead, you will define the technical vision and lead the development of world-class mobile applications across Android and iOS platforms. This role is responsible for building a high-performing engineering team, establishing scalable architectures, and delivering seamless user experiences.
We are seeking a strategic and hands-on leader who can balance technical excellence with people management, drive engineering best practices, and continuously evolve development processes to support business growth.
Responsibilities:
Team Leadership & Management:
- Oversee the day-to-day management of the Android, iOS teams, including task delegation, technical guidance, and mentorship.
- Build and cultivate a positive, high-performing, and effective engineering team.
Technical Planning & Architecture:
- Lead the overall technical design and technology selection for our mobile platforms.
- Define and enforce unified development standards and create a strategic roadmap for architectural evolution, ensuring the scalability, stability, and forward-looking nature of our tech stack.
Performance & Quality Assurance:
- Spearhead efforts to tackle critical technical challenges, leading initiatives in performance optimization (e.g., app startup time, UI smoothness, memory management), stability improvements, and overall user experience enhancement.
- Establish and refine a comprehensive quality assurance system.
Engineering Excellence & Process Optimization:
- Drive engineering efficiency and excellence within the team.
- Explore and implement best practices such as CI/CD, automated testing, and proactive monitoring/alerting.
- Continuously optimize and evolve current development processes and collaboration models.
Requirements:
- Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or related field.
- 8+ years of experience in mobile development (Android & iOS), with at least 3 years in a technical management or team leadership role in fintech, digital payments or banking.
- Expertise in either native Android (Kotlin/Java) and iOS (Swift/Objective-C) development, coupled with a deep understanding of the other.
- Deep familiarity with mainstream architectural patterns like MVVM, understanding the core design principles beyond just practical application.
- A demonstrable understanding of the design principles behind popular open-source components (e.g., OkHttp, Lottie, Glide, AFNetworking) is highly valued.
- Familiarity with financial regulations in Mexico (CNBV) is an advantage.
- Mandatory: Native or fluency in Spanish and English.
- Preferred: Conversational in Chinese (Mandarin).

Salary: $155,000 MXN Gross Monthly
