The primary role of this position is to maintain our great level of service to our customers at night. Throughout your shift you will be responsible for cashing out customers using a variety of payment methods such as cash, check or credit cards for all night purchases.
The perfect candidate is someone who is capable of handling large volumes of transactions and is detailed oriented, organized, and excels in customer service. Key responsibilities also include assisting customers and sales teams with invoice related questions and discrepancies in a friendly and courteous manner.
Key Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:
- Follow company procedures when collecting monetary payments, including but not limited to;
- Credit Card: verify identification, obtain signatures, close credit card machines for settled batches, and maintain transactions receipts and balances at the end of shift
- Check: Verify identification, ensure checks are within produce relations, partner with sales team to ensure checks are signed and approved prior to customer submitting payment, and that written amount and numerical amount are identical
- Cash: Ensure proper cash is received, and appropriate change is given, and each bill is processed through the counting machine for fraud prevention
- Communicate and follow up with customers regarding bounced checks
- Perform accounts receivable collections
- Communicate account issues to the accounting office when they arise
- Review pick tickets and ensure all non-cash tickets are signed by customers, and changes are updated in the computer
- Inform operations team of outstanding issues with pick tickets to ensure timely resolution
- Communicate effectively with peers and supervisors; inform all relevant parties regarding discrepancies or any other issues that arise throughout shift
- Follow daily procedures, including but not limited to the proper opening/closing procedures, printing/reviewing daily end report, ensuring drawer is accurately balanced, and posting batches
- Retain proper documentation for funds collected during shift, accompanied by “daily day end total sheet” and “detailed tape”
- Attention to detail regarding the activities of each customer and payments made
- Perform other duties as assigned
Requirements:
- Must be willing to work an overnight shift (Sunday through Friday morning, 8:00PM to 4:00AM)
- Must be 18 years or older
- Must be able to work in the United States
- Must have 1+ years’ experience as high volume cashier, in banking, check cashing or large volume retail position
- Must have 1+ years’ experience in customer service
- Strong communication skills required
- Spanish speaking a plus
