Position: Licensed Practical/Vocational Nurse (LVN/LPN)

Location: NMC Camp Lejeune Camp Lejeune, North Carolina 28541 United States Onslow

We currently have an immediate opening for a full-time Licensed Practical/Vocational Nurses (LPN/LVN) in support of the Hadnot Point Clinic at the Naval Medical Center Camp Lejeune, NC.

Work Schedule:

  • Branch Clinics offer a weekday schedule from 6:45 am to 5:00 pm with a 30-minute lunch break. Enjoy a work-life balance with no on-call duties, weekends, or holidays!

Minimum Qualifications (Applicants must meet the following requirements):

  • Degree: Certificate
  • Education: Graduate from an accredited community college, junior college, college, university or vocational nursing program
  • Certification: Possess a current AHA or ARC BLS Healthcare Provider certification
  • Certifications in addition to Basic Life Support: IV, medications and blood administration
  • Experience: One year of practical or vocational nurse experience after graduation within the last two years
  • Licensure: Current, full, active and unrestricted license as a practical or vocational nurse.
  • Security: Must possess ability to pass a Government background check/security clearance.

Core Duties:

  • Core Duties:
    • Initiate, perform, and complete assigned care duties for diverse patient populations.
    • Provide patient care based on their condition, selecting appropriate procedures and treatments, and accurately documenting relevant patient information.
    • Identify and respond to patient needs, including medication administration, equipment-assisted care, and patient/family education.
    • Administer prescribed medications and perform treatments following established policies and procedures.
    • Recognize and respond to urgent or emergent patient care situations, seeking assistance and initiating emergency interventions as directed.
    • Assist in complex diagnostic tests and specialized procedures, preparing patients, handling specialized equipment, and monitoring patient conditions.
    • Orient peers and ancillary staff to unit policies, skills, and practice standards.
    • Promote a healthy work environment to enhance patient care, patient education, and employee satisfaction.
  • Additional Duties (clinic/department dependent):
    • Branch Clinics:
      • Participate in daily MHP/MCMH Team huddles/meetings to review appointments and identify team requirements and patient needs.
      • Prepare patient electronic health records and relevant forms before appointments.
      • Assist in managing various aspects of patient care, including referrals, hospitalizations, ER visits, and ancillary testing.
      • Develop and distribute lists of available community resources.
      • Establish and maintain relationships with healthcare providers, hospitals, ERs, and other resources for patient care coordination.
      • Coordinate consults, referrals, follow-ups, and tracking for the practice.
      • Ensure continuity of care with patients for compliance.
